In 2023, T4FF Ltd, the parent business behind The Waterfront Hotel and Kitchen Café, and the Teaberry Café, was one of the first businesses to successfully apply for an Electirc Vehicle Grant and supporting Green Business Loan to purchase an electric minibus enabling them to provide eco-friendly airport transfers for their guests, as part of their service. This supported T4FF Ltd’s sustainable policy aims.
After some delays in the supply chain, the mini-bus arrived in August 2024. The hotel has since achieved Gold accreditation from the Falkland islands Tourist Board which owner/director Alex Olmedo adds the “EV was a very big plus to our overall score” and plenty of positive feedback from their guests who are growing more conscious of their carbon footprint when travelling.
Following on from this, the business has since applied successfully for an EV Charging Infrastructure Grant to support the purchase and installation of a charging point for the vehicle at the hotel premises.
