FIDC Business Breakfast 2025

On Friday 18th July 2025, the annual FIDC Business Breakfast took place at the Malvina House Hotel, in collaboration with Falkland College, offering Higher and Further Education students an opportunity to explore their interests and future careers with industry professionals.

Over 50 professionals attended this years’ FIDC Business Breakfast, all of whom supported the 14 students in attendance, with offers of future visits and experience offered.

A variety of individuals attended to support and answer any questions that the students had regarding their interests and careers aspirations, including hospitality and construction pathways, to lawyers and Royal Air Force pilots.

The Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme (YES!) is an FIDC Project established in 2016, that is aimed at young people and the wider community and developing the business capacity in the Falkland Islands.

This year’s Business Breakfast had a positive turn out, and FIDC looks forward to hosting the event again next year. FIDC would like to thank all students and professionals for attending, and the Malvina House Hotel for hosting another successful event.

Zachary Franklin, Managing Director of FIDC, says: “It is great to see continued interest from students in the myriad of professions available in the Falkland Islands. It is equally as great to see the professional community, be it the private sector, government, or Armed Services, able to devote so much time to fostering the next generation of those looking to enter the workforce.”
