Amanda Curry Brown came to the Falkland Islands in 2022 as Director of Policy, Economy & Corporate Services for the Falkland Islands Government. She currently works remotely for a UN Environment Programme initaitive focused on addressing air pollution and climate change in low- and middle-income countries. Prior to coming to the Falklands, Amanda was the senior economist for the St Helena Government for three years, leading on a broad range of policy issues including development of a workforce strategy, work to align the minimum wage with the living wage, and support for the tourism sector during COVID-19. She started her career in the U.S. government, working most recently for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency where she started as a regulatory economist before taking on management of her office’s portfolio of international climate and air quality projects.
