Cheryl Roberts was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly for the Stanley constituency in December 2025. This is her first term as an MLA.
Cheryl holds the Trade, Industry and Mineral Resources portfolio and is Deputy for Public Infrastructure.
Born in the Falkland Islands, Cheryl moved to the UK during the 1970s before returning to live in the Islands in 1990. Her professional background is in retail and fishing. She began working in the local fishing industry in 1991 and purchased Beauchene Fishing Co Ltd in November 2003.
Cheryl has held numerous voluntary positions throughout her time in the Falklands, including roles with the Media Trust and the Falkland Islands Association. She remains a trustee of the Lighthouse Seafarers Mission and proudly instigated the ongoing restoration of Cape Pembroke Lighthouse, which is expected to be completed during 2026.
