FIDC Announces Request for Proposal (RFP) for New Marina Feasibility Study

Stanley, Falkland Islands – Monday 7th April 2025 – The Falkland Islands Development Corporation (FIDC) has today issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to the global marine and coastal infrastructure market to select and appoint a preferred consultancy firm to undertake a comprehensive feasibility study for the development of a new marina in Stanley Harbour.

This landmark initiative aims to evaluate the viability, sustainability and economic impact of a state-of-the-art marina that will not only cater to local maritime and yachting needs but also enhance economic opportunities and community-driven developments.

“The issuance of this RFP marks a significant step forward in our strategic vision for sustainable coastal development” said Zachary Franklin, Managing Director of FIDC. “We are seeking a consultancy partner with the global expertise and local insight to not only assess the technical and economic aspects of the proposed marina, but also to provide clear recommendations to support its successful implementation.”

The RFP invites proposals from experienced firms with a proven track record in marine and coastal infrastructure projects. The selected consultant will be responsible for delivering a detailed feasibility study that will encompass extensive market analysis, environmental and social impact assessments, technical infrastructure requirements, risk evaluation and a robust financial model. The closing date for submissions is Monday 16th June 2025, and the contract will be awarded on Monday 30th June 2025.

This initiative reflects the Falkland Islands Development Corporation’s commitment to driving sustainable economic growth and enhancing public infrastructure in the Falkland Islands.
