FIDC recently hosted a series of in-person training courses focused on professional skills, delivered by Nigel Moody and Sophie Harrison-Moody of Harrison-Moody Training.

Nigel delivered the five-day Leadership and Management Development programme to 12 participants. The course enabled the delegates to enhance and develop their leadership skills and capabilities, develop a clear understanding effective leadership and management in practice, and carry out their duties as a leader more confidently and to the best of their ability. The programme consisted of a mix of tutor-led input, essential background information and context, combined with facilitated interactive discussions, group activities and relevant case studies.
The remaining courses were delivered by Sophie, beginning with the Presentation Skills programme which provided 6 participants with the opportunity to further develop their knowledge and skills, using proven tools and techniques to construct and deliver highly effective professional presentations with greater confidence. The course comprised a number of group and individual exercises and activities designed to help participants prepare effective presentations and speak to an audience with more confidence.

Next, was the Human Resources and People Management programme which was delivered to 14 participants and comprised four modules; each with a mix of tutor-led input, combined with facilitated interactive discussions and regular group activities. The aim of the course was to enhance understanding of the key elements of Human Resources and people management best practice, develop managers’ confidence and competence and develop skills and acquire techniques in effective recruitment of staff, setting standards and developing individuals.
The final course held was the Personal Impact and Presence Development programme which assisted 7 delegates in planning and developing their future career options and developing a greater sense of purpose and confidence towards realising their personal career ambitions.

FIDC would like to thank Nigel and Sophie for delivering four excellent courses and all of the delegates who participated in them.
